Dr. Fernau received his bachelor’s degree, graduating Summa Cum Laude in zoology, from the University of Wyoming. He received his medical degree from the University of Utah, where he graduated in the top 10% of his class earning the honor of Alpha Omega Alpha, and was named the outstanding graduate. Dr. Fernau has received numerous awards for advanced education recognized by the American Society for Plastic Surgery. He was awarded one of Americas “Top Doctors” by the American Consumer Research Council. He precisely tailors a treatment plan based on the desires of each client to ensure their overall satisfaction.

Dr. Fernau was one of the first physicians in Western Pennsylvania to pioneer carbon dioxide laser resurfacing for wrinkles. His practice has evolved to the Sciton Erbian Coagulation laser recognized by most experts in the field as the best resurfacing laser in the world. He is an expert at eliminating wrinkles, acne scarring and removal of undesirable facial lesions. Additionally, he uses the Isolaz laser to cure active acne, cleanse facial pores and treat undesirable skin conditions. The Isolaz is also used to painlessly remove unwanted hair and the Versa Pulse Cosmetic Laser for treatment of leg veins and tattoo removal.
